§ Mr. de Freitasasked the Secretary of State for Air what research he is undertaking into fog dispersal.
Mr. WardAs my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation explained last week, an improved FIDO is now being tested at a R.A.F. airfield. The further development of this equipment for the Royal Air Force will depend upon how the results compare with those obtained by the Ministry of Supply Blind Landing Experimental Unit in the work they are doing on the development of automatic and instrumental blind landing systems. In addition research into the dispersal of fog over small areas is being carried out by the Meteorological Office.
