HC Deb 09 February 1959 vol 599 c156W
85. Mr. Hale

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that the Oldham man, whose name has been communicated to him, registered as unemployed on 12th December, 1958, was refused benefit during Christmas on the ground that he was entitled to arrears of holiday pay and has been refused benefit ever since on the ground that his papers have been lost; and whether he will investigate this matter and make a statement.

Mr. Iain Macleod

I am informed that the facts are not as reported to the hon. Member. The man whose name he has supplied was disqualified for receipt of unemployment benefit for a period of six weeks from 12th December, 1958, on the ground that he had lost his employment through industrial misconduct.
