§ 86. Mr. de Freitasasked the Secretary of State for Air for what reason the London University Air Squadron is to be moved from Biggin Hill to White Waltham; and for what reason the Ground Office Selection Centre is to be moved from Uxbridge to Biggin Hill.
Mr. WardThe London University Air Squadron has been moved from Biggin Hill because we cannot justify the cost in men and money of operating the airfield for this one flying unit. We are moving the Ground Officer Selection Centre to Biggin Hill as part of a plan to amalgamate it with the Aircrew Selection Centre which will move from Hornchurch later.
