HC Deb 05 February 1959 vol 599 c127W
Mr. Creech Jones

asked the Postmaster-General if he will consider issuing postage stamps of a variety of designs, as is the practice of foreign countries, in place of the stamps now issued.

Mr. K. Thompson

No. I am sure our policy of having a permanent series of stamps with the Monarch's head as the dominant feature of the design, supplemented from time to time with appropriately designed special issues, meets with general approval and I do not propose to change it.
