§ 153 and 154. Mr. Masonasked the Minister of Labour (1) why it is the practice to recall discharged Service men for one day to inform them they are being placed in the appropriate Reserve;
(2) if he will consider amending the present method of recalling discharged Service men for one day, which is resulting in loss of productive effort and unnecessary worry and is a costly exercise, and replacing it with an appropriate form to be filled in for transference to reserve duty.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodThe practice of recalling a man for one day is followed in suitable cases where he is being relieved of the obligation to do further whole-time service and entered into the appropriate Reserve. I am looking into the hon. Member's suggestion.
