102. Mr. Stonehouse

asked the Minister of Defence what supplies of botulinus toxin are available in this country as part of the defence programme; and what scientists he has appointed to advise him on the use of this weapon.

Mr. Sandys

We are not developing any such weapon.

Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Minister of Defence (1) in view of the disarmament policy of Her Majesty's Government, if he will close the Microbiological Research Centre and the Chemical Defence Experimental Establishment;

(2) what defence is available against the spreading of botulinus toxin and other germs in this country.

I have nothing to add to the reply which my right hon. Friend the Minister of Supply gave on 26th January.
