HC Deb 03 February 1959 vol 599 c42W
Sir A. Bossom

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he will give consideration to any restrictions on land being printed on the Ordnance Survey maps to avoid the confusion that frequently occurs when purchasers of land subsequently find its proposed development is strictly limited, or even impossible.

Mr. Bevins

My right hon. Friend fears that this might do more harm than good, because people might easily be misled by an Ordnance Survey map which, in relation to planning, might be out of date. The only reliable way for a prospective purchaser of land to find out about restrictions on development is to ask the local planning authority.
