asked the Paymaster-General what general directions he has given to the Gas Council concerning the importation of liquid methane into the United Kingdom; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Maudling

None. As my noble Friend, the Minister of Power, said in another place on 21st January, only small experimental shipments are to be made to test the technical and economic possibilities of importing liquid methane.
