Johnsonasked the Minister of Health what steps have been taken in respect of a review by executive councils of assistantships in general practice in 9W their areas; how many executive councils have already reviewed the assistantships in their areas in the course of this; and how many principals have, in consequence, had permission to employ an assistant refused, or have had their extra list reduced.
§ Mr. Walker-SmithExecutive Councils are required periodically to review all consents to employ an assistant for a period of three months or over. The detailed arrangements are a matter for the individual council, in consultation with the local medical committee, and I regret that the information requested in the latter part of the question is not available.
