HC Deb 17 December 1959 vol 615 c232W
111. Wing Commander Bullus

asked the President of the Board of Trade what was the amount of waste paper recovered during the past 12 months; how this compares with the amount salvaged in the previous 12 months; and if full publicity is still given to the necessity to save all waste paper.

Mr. Erroll

In 1958 the quantity of waste paper taken in by the paper mills was 1,169,000 tons. In 1957 it was 1,092,000 tons. I think that publicity can safely be left to those whose business it is to collect waste paper.
