HC Deb 17 December 1959 vol 615 c264W
Mr. Gresham-Cooke

asked the Minister of Transport what measures he is taking to improve the usefulness of M.1, and to learn from this motorway lessons for the future.

Mr. Marples

I have recently set up a small panel to study urgently these two problems. Its first meeting was on 20th November and I expect its first report very soon.

The panel is under one of my deputy chief engineers. The Director of the Road Research Laboratory and representatives of the A.A. and R.A.C. are members. The panel has received considerable assistance from the police.
