HC Deb 17 December 1959 vol 615 c205W
Mr. G. M. Thomson

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies why the representative of the Daily Telegraph newspaper on an officially approved visit to the Kanjedza detention camp in Nyasaland was forbidden to engage in political discussion with the detainees.

Mr. J. Amery

In accordance with normal prison procedure the representative of the newspaper mentioned was asked not to discuss controversial political issues with the detainees. I understand that he readily agreed to this.
