§ Mr. John HareThe Commission's labour force fell from 13,040 to 12,384 227W during the year ended 30th September, 1958, a drop of 656. As the Commissioners stated in their Annual Report, this was due partly to a temporary reduction in the planting programme and partly to a more efficient use of manpower. By 30th September, 1959, the number employed had risen to 12,512. an increase of 128 during the year.
