HC Deb 17 December 1959 vol 615 c238W
Mr. Eden

asked the Minister of Health when he proposes to increase the hospital facilities for Bournemouth residents, with particular regard to the needs of elderly people.

Mr. Walker-Smith

Work is now in progress on extensions to Poole General Hospital which when completed will provide additional acute hospital facilities and relieve pressure on Bournemouth hospitals. No increase in the number of chronic sick beds in this area is at present contemplated.
