HC Deb 16 December 1959 vol 615 c169W
60. Mr. K. Lewis

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the inadequate public transport facilities serving many villages in Rutland and Lincolnshire due to the closure of stations by British Railways; and what future plans he has for dealing with this and similar problems in other rural areas.

Mr. Hay

The Committee on Rural Bus Services set up by the Government is inquiring into the adequacy of rural bus services. It will of course take into account the closure of rail services. I think we should await the Committee's findings.
