HC Deb 16 December 1959 vol 615 c155W
Mr. Callaghan

asked the Postmaster-General how many applications for telephones are still outstanding in Cardiff; and how soon he hopes to be able to provide them.

Mr. Bevins

Two hundred and eighty-five. In addition 481 are under inquiry or in course of being met. New cables are being laid and I hope that all existing waiting applicants will be given service by the spring of 1961.

During the past twelve months 1,560 telephones were installed in Cardiff.
