§ Mr. de Freitasasked the Secretary of State for Air by what authority he makes compulsory purchase orders in respect of land for the use of the military forces of our Allies.
Mr. WardI acquire land by means of a Notice to Treat served under the Defence Acts. The Visiting Forces Act and an Order in Council made under it enable me to use my Defence Act powers on behalf of foreign military forces visiting the United Kingdom. Land so acquired is held in the name of the Secretary of State for Air.
