HC Deb 15 December 1959 vol 615 cc138-9W
Mr. Cordle

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs if he is aware that there is concern amongst local government officers regarding the code of compensation for loss of office, namely, regulations made under Section 60 of the Local Government Act, 1958, in view of the far-reaching changes which may be effected in local government structure when the recommendations of the Local Government Commissions are reviewed; and if he will introduce without delay the regulations governing compensation for loss of office, which remain to be formulated under the Act.

Mr. H. Brooke

Good progress has been made with drafting regulations under the Section, and I shall shortly be consulting the local authority associations and the bodies representing local government employees about them.
