HC Deb 15 December 1959 vol 615 c137W
107. Mr. Wyatt

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he will withhold his approval to the application now being made by the British Transport Commission for immediate permission to demolish the Doric Arch and Great Hall of Euston Station, in view of the fact that Euston Station was the first railway station ever built in any capital city and is included in the statutory list of buildings of historic interest.

Mr. H. Brooke

These buildings being on the statutory list, two months' notice of any proposal to demolish them must be formally given to the London County Council, who must forthwith inform me. I understand that no such notice has been received by the Council. If it should be received, both the Council and I will have an opportunity of considering whether to intervene.
