§ Mr. Woodburnasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that the absence of adequate discussion of the problems of European co-operation, with its many developments which are favourable, and of the obstacles which are hampering progress, is causing an unawareness by the public of the urgent need to establish a European community; and whether he will arrange for regular reports of the activities of the Government in this field and give facilities for discussion in the House of these activities and those of private Members.
§ Mr. R. AllanHer Majesty's Government are as concerned as the right hon. Gentleman to see that the House and the public are aware of the need for closer150W collaboration with Europe. We had a debate yesterday about the economic issues. With regard to the political aspects, a number of bilateral talks on political problems have recently been held with various European Governments. These are now being followed by a series of meetings in Paris of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, Western European Union and the Council of Europe, at which various aspects of European co-operation will be discussed.
