Second-Hand Gas Appliances

Mr. Brockway

asked the Minister of Power if he has reached a decision on the recommendation of the Gas Consultative Councils that legislation should be introduced to enforce dealers in second-hand gas appliances to ensure that such appliances are safe for use before being sold to the public.

There has been no general agreement among the twelve Consultative Councils that such legislation should be recommended, and I am not satisfied that it is necessary.
