HC Deb 10 December 1959 vol 615 cc78-9W
Mr. Russell

asked the Secretary of States for Air if he is aware of the dissatisfaction among women teachers employed at the Royal Air Force Station, Seletar, Singapore, about the conditions in which they have to live in the officers' mess, with no facilities for quiet in which to work, no private room in which to entertain friends, and no electric points for boiling kettles in their bedrooms, and that permission to live out with the appropriate allowance was refused, although the conditions of service shown to them beforehand stated that they could live out if they wished; and if he will compare these conditions with those enjoyed by Army teachers in Singapore with a view to improving them.

Mr. Ward

I am making inquiries and will write to my hon. Friend.
