HC Deb 10 December 1959 vol 615 c63W
76. Mr. K. Robinson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has yet reached a decision upon the recommendations of Part H of the Wolfenden Report; and what steps he proposes to take in order to ascertain the views of this House on the matter.

Mr. R. A. Butler

The debate a year ago showed that opinion in the last Parliament was sharply divided. I believe that that was an accurate reflection of opinion in the country, and that it would be premature to introduce legislation on this topic. I do not think that the time is yet ripe for a further debate.
