§ Mr. Wingfield Digbyasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will give further details of the financial aid to Malta in the current financial year.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodThe financial aid, amounting to approximately £5 million, which Malta will receive from the United Kingdom in the current financial year is part of the £29¼ million which Her Majesty's Government are contributing towards the cost of the Five Year Development Plan. I regret that I replied in a contrary sense to a supplementary question asked by my hon. Friend on 24th November.
The contribution in the current year is towards estimated expenditure as shown in the plan.
