asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a comprehensive statement of the number of new industries and the number of extensions of existing industries which have been introduced into Aberdeen City and County, respectively, during the last twelve months, indicating the increases in the number of workers of each sex in each such industry

In the period 1st November, 1958, to 31st October, 1959, in Aberdeen City four extensions were completed and at the end of the period one new building was under construction and one extension had been approved but not yet started. The total estimated additional number of jobs was 47 for male and 21 for female workers.

In the County of Aberdeen in the same period, one extension was completed and at the end of the period two new buildings and five extensions were under construction and four further extensions had been approved but not yet started. The total estimated additional number of jobs was 245 for male and 305 for female workers.
