HC Deb 30 April 1959 vol 604 c149W
1. Colonel Beamish

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations when the Central Office of Information will have completed its arrangements for a touring Commonwealth exhibition; what form this will take; what its main objects will be; and where it is likely to go during its first 12-months' tour.

Mr. Alport

Plans provide for the exhibition to be ready by the third week in October. It will take the form of a self-contained exihibition designed for showing in existing buildings. The exhibition will be designed to present a general picture of the Commonwealth and to illustrate various aspects of progress and development and of inter-Commonwealth co-operation. It is expected that the exhibition will first be shown in Scotland and that it will then visit four major centres in England during the current financial year.
