HC Deb 29 April 1959 vol 604 c125W
60. Mr. Gresham Cooke

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what repair work is now being carried out beneath the surface of Hammersmith Broadway; when it is scheduled to be completed; and to what extent double-shift working at that place is being undertaken.

Mr. Nugent

No repair work is being done, but the London County Council is building pedestrian subways as part of the Cromwell Road Extension Scheme. It expects to complete the main part of the work, which interferes with traffic, by July and the rest by the end of the year. Work is being carried on by clay and night shifts and at week-ends.
