asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs, how many of the 75 local authorities' areas which are approved smoke-control areas are supplied with adequate supplies of solid smokeless fuel.

Mr. Bevins

Supplies of these fuels appear to be satisfactory for the 34 smoke control areas now in operation in England and Wales and my right hon. Friend believes that supplies will be adequate for the 63 other areas for which orders have been confirmed, but which are not yet in operation.
