HC Deb 28 April 1959 vol 604 c104W
55. Mr. Wall

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what arrangements are being made for the future of British civil servants, both permanent and on contract, now employed by the Cyprus Government.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Every effort will be made to offer employment in other territories to officers who wish to continue their service overseas. Compensation arrangements for officers who cannot be offered or do not wish to take further employment overseas are being worked out urgently, but I am not yet in a position to announce particulars. The facilities of the Overseas Services Resettlement Bureau will also be at the disposal of these officers.
