HC Deb 28 April 1959 vol 604 c109W
67. Sir W. Anstruther-Gray

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his estimate of the loss of agricultural land to all other purposes during the next five-year period on the basis of development plans now in view and all available information; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Maclay

I estimate that the annual loss of agricultural land to other purposes (excluding forestry) will not exceed 5,000 acres over the next five years.
