asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs why Her Majesty's Government have not yet accepted the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights.

Her Majesty's Government have not accepted the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights because they take the view that the final decision regarding alleged violation of the Convention should, in accordance with Article 32 of the Convention, rest with the Committee of Ministers rather than with the Court.
