HC Deb 27 April 1959 vol 604 c99W
Mr. M. MacMillan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland which islands and districts in islands in the Outer Hebrides now have electricity supplies from the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board; and which have not yet been served under approved Board schemes.

Mr. Maclay

I am informed by the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board that electricity supplies have been provided in the islands of Lewis and Harris, Benbecula, South Uist and Eriskay. I am asking the Board to send the hon. Member information about the parts of these islands to which a supply has not yet been introduced. Supplies have not yet been provided to the islands of North Uist and Barra, or to a number of smaller islands.
