68. Mr. Brockway

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies who have been appointed to serve on the Maltese Council; and what parties or interests they represent.

In addition to the three ex-officio members, the Governor has appointed three official members (the Attorney-General, the Administrative Secretary and the Deputy Financial Secretary), all of whom are Maltese; and four unofficial members.

The four unofficial members are: Mr. Edward George Arrigo, Colonel Arthur J. Dunkerley, O.B.E., Mr. Joseph La Rosa, Professor Joseph Henry Xuereb.

These gentlemen are all Maltese with wide interests and experience in civil affairs in Malta. They were not chosen to represent any party or interest.
