HC Deb 21 April 1959 vol 604 c35W
89. Sir W. Anstruther-Gray

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many meetings have been held up to date of the Scottish Advisory Council on the treatment of Offenders when was the last meeting; and when it is proposed that the Council will next meet.

Mr. Maclay

The Advisory Council met on 9th March and then divided into two sub-committees to consider short sentences of imprisonment and the custodial treatment of young offenders.

I understand that each sub-committee has met twice; and that no date has been fixed for the next meeting of the Council.
