asked the Minister of Health what was the combined death rate for influenza and chest diseases during each of the first three months of this year in the London area and in England and Wales generally; and how these figures compare with those for last year.

Death rates per million population from chest diseases (influenza, bronchitis and pneumonia) were as follows:
