§ Mr. Edward Evansasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much has been paid in subsidies to inshore, near and middle water fishing vessels since the inauguration of the subsidies scheme; and how this money has been allocated as between the main fishing ports.
§ Mr. John HareWhite fish subsidy has been paid since 31st July, 1950, and herring subsidy since 13th May, 1957. To 31st December, 1958, the latest date for which complete figures are available, a total of £19,039,379 had been expended. Of this amount white fish subsidy accounted for £18,375,907 and herring subsidy for £663,472.
