§ Mr. Wallasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the number of Europeans, Asians and Africans who could have been eligible to vote, who registered for voting, and who actually recorded their votes, in the recent elections in Northern Rhodesia.
§ Mr. Lennox-Boydasked The numbers of enrolled voters eligible to vote in the elections were Europeans 20,566, Asians 2,051 and Africans 7,617. The total numbers who could have registered is not known with certainty, but it is estimated that 80 per cent. of Europeans and Asians and about a third of the Africans did so. It is not possible to state what proportion of registered voters of each race recorded their votes since the ballot papers bore no indication of a voter's race.
