HC Deb 15 April 1959 vol 603 cc74-5W
49. Miss Burton

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether he is aware of the anxiety in Coventry at the falling off of orders for naval equipment in the naval sections at Coventry Gauge and Tool; and if he will make a statement on his plans for the provision of alternative orders.

Mr. C. Ian Orr-Ewing

No; while it is true that there has been a progressive decline in Admiralty contracts with this firm in recent years, the value of work in hand for completion over the next three years for the Admiralty is well over £1 million.
