HC Deb 10 April 1959 vol 603 c45W
Sir A. Bossom

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will carry out investigations to determine whether the effectiveness of spray dipping is satisfactory now that the sheep scab is under control; and if he will make recommendations as to how this should be handled.

Mr. John Hare

For the reason given in the reply which I gave to my hon. Friend on 5th December, 1958, I do not think it necessary to carry out further investigations into the effectiveness of spraying against sheep scab. Sheep scab was eliminated from this country in 1952, and I could not recommend spraying as a means of preventing its re-introduction.
