§ Mr. Swinglerasked the Minister of Education the latest figures of the numbers of classes in primary and secondary schools of over 40, and over 30, children, respectively; and what proportions of the classes in primary and secondary schools are oversized.
§ Mr. Geoffrey LloydIn January, 1957, the latest date for which I have complete figures, 31,907 junior classes had more than 40 pupils, and 41,136 senior classes more than 30. About a quarter of the junior and half of the senior classes were oversized. I hope to have the figures for January, 1958, in about three weeks.
