HC Deb 19 November 1958 vol 595 cc163-4W
100. Sir A. V. Harvey

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what steps are taken by his Department to protect pilots from infringing regulations when piloting crop-spraying aircraft near to the ground.

Mr. Neave

Crop-spraying pilots, like others, must plan their flights in such a way that regulations are not infringed. Crop-spraying aircraft are subject to the same regulations as others except, of course, that they are exempt, while spraying, from the rule prohibiting low flying in open country.

My Department sent a letter to all operators last August asking them to ensure that all applicable air navigation regulations were strictly complied with.
