§ 92. Mr. Braineasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he will consider ways and means of helping local authorities to make up private streets without causing undue hardship to frontagers, especially old age pensioners who are unable to bear their share of road charges.
§ Mr. BevinsI am afraid that there is very little I can add to the reply which I gave on 3rd November to a Question by the hon. Member for Oldham, West (Mr. Hale). My right hon. Friend is not satisfied, on the information at present before him, that the existing powers are inadequate to relieve hardship in individual cases, but he will keep this question under review.
