§ 96. Mr. Goodhartasked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations what further action he will take to increase educational liaison within the Commonwealth.
§ Mr. AlportMy hon. Friend will have seen from the Report of the Commonwealth Trade and Economic Conference (Cmnd. 539) that a Commonwealth Education Conference will be held in the United Kingdom next year to formulate a new scheme for Commonwealth scholarships and fellowships; to review the existing arrangements for cooperation between Commonwealth countries in educational matters and to make recommendations for improvements or expansion where necessary. I look forward therefore to greatly increased liaison within the Common-wealth as the plans agreed on at Montreal are put into operation.
