HC Deb 12 November 1958 vol 595 c50W
101. Sir F. Medlicott

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware of the concern on the part of sub-postmasters as to the lack of any assurance that they will receive adequate compensation for injuries suffered whilst protecting Post Office property; and if he will make a statement of his proposals in this regard.

Mr. K. Thompson

I have considered the representations made to me by the Federation of Sub-Postmasters. While sympathising with any who suffer from criminal violence, I am unable to meet the whole demands of the Federation. I have promised to deal sympathetically with each case in the light of the circumstances.
