§ 53. Mr. Sorensenasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, in view of the completion of road construction in the vicinity of Whipps Cross in the Borough of Leyton and of the fact that no further pedestrian crossings have been provided on that thoroughfare, what consideration has been given to the necessity of providing such crossings, particularly in view of the fact that the thoroughfare there has now a speed limit of 40 miles per hour and is heavily used both by cars and lorries.
§ Mr. NugentIt is for the Leyton Borough Council, as the responsible highway authority, to propose whatever measures of this kind it thinks appropriate for this road.
