§ 55. Mr. Gibsonasked the Minister of Works what progress has been made in the removal of deep-shelter tops in London or in the proposal to improve their appearance; and, in particular, what steps have been taken to remove those which are obstructing necessary road improvements and disfiguring public commons.
§ Mr. MolsonSince my reply to the hon. Member on 10th December, 1957, further progress has been made with improving the appearance of these shelter entrances. Work has been completed at the two entrances to the Goodge Street 29W shelter and is due to start this month at all the others, except one at Stockwell, which will be dealt with when its effect on local development schemes can be better seen.
There is no question at present of removing these entrances; I know of no road improvement schemes at present approved which are obstructed by their existence.
