§ Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware of the diminution in the number of British administrative and other overseas officers in Nigeria owing to offers by Her Majesty's Government favourable to their early or premature retirement, and that this diminution is adverse to the services in Nigeria where such officers are still wanted; and how he proposes to assist Nigeria to maintain full and adequate services until she is in a position to provide them fully herself.
