§ Mr. Leaveyasked the Minister of Labour whether he is prepared to review the requirements of the Factories Act, 1937, concerning the examination of steam boilers, in view of developments since then in the design, construction, and size of the units in use in industry.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodYes. In view of the developments referred to, I have decided to appoint a committee to consider the existing legal provisions concerning the examination of steam boilers in the light of modern developments in design and construction, the size of units installed and the use of nuclear reactors as a source of heat; and to advise me of any changes which appear desirable.
The membership of the committee will be as follows:
