§ Mr. Iain MacleodThe estimated number of women and girls in civil employment in Great Britain at the end of March, 1958, was 7,748,000. Estimates of the number of married women are available for the end of May only in each year. At the end of May, 1956, the latest date for which I have figures the estimated number of married women employees was 3,723,000.
