§ Mr. Aubrey JonesThe payment made to non-industrial employees of the Ministry attending sandwich courses is the normal salary appropriate to rank and age. Apprentices receive rates of pay negotiated with the trades unions and, in certain circumstances, an allowance if they have to live away from home. In addition, tuition and examination fees and travelling expenses are paid by the Ministry.
